Doubtful Sound Kayak

What an amazing four days on the Doubtful Sound.  NZ has 13 Fiords of which about 3 are “accessible”.  You get to Doubtful via a bus ride from Te Anau to Manapouri then a ferry ride across Lake Manapouri then another bus ride into Deep Cove, where the water is still as glass and the sun is shining.  We were lured into thinking that this is how it is on this our first day of paddling for a 30 Km stretch.  Needless to say the wind picked up (as it does every day around 1:00) and it became the slog of my paddling life, only to be one upped by the slog on day 3 J.   The 4 days of paddling were filled with amazing beauty, making it to the Tasman Sea, kayaking with seals and dolphins, sailing two double kayaks together like a “Cat”, and surfing our Kayak on one rather long and winding crossing
