We journeyed from an undiscovered part of Tuscany to over-discovered Tuscany. However, there is a very good reason why tourists are drawn to a location, and this one is very understandable. Chianti country is beautiful!!! It is a tapestry of olive trees woven into grapevines divided by long rows of old cypress and thick forests of pine and chestnut. All of this is perfectly punctuated with lovingly restored previously abandoned estates and sharecroppers’ homes that are hundreds of years old and steeped in history. The land is remarkably beautiful and full of wild flowers and fragrant blooming trees. We enjoyed the celebration of our 18th year anniversary here and, of course, some delicious food and wine. Chianti Classico is what you drink here! Our perfect day in Chianti country was spent walking UP to Parco San Michele, which turned out to be an extremely tranquil setting with a fantastic Ristoro. We enjoyed an antipasto of local products, perfectly cooked Florentine bistecca with rosemary and peppercorn, Tagliatella di corniglio e carote in bianca. When in Tuscany, eat like a Tuscan J Fortunately, the walk home was all downhill!!! Next stop: Montalcino, the land of Brunello.

LOVE IT! I think Perry and I should celebrate our 17th anniversary there this June! Looks like you are having the time of your life!
